1. Introduction
1.1. This Shipping policy describes how Artaeria Editorial Ltd (“Artaeria,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) fulfills and delivers orders placed through artaeria.com and our mobile application (collectively, the “Services”).
1.2. This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, which govern returns, refunds, taxes, customs charges, and limitation of liability. In the event of any inconsistency between this policy and the Terms & Conditions, the Terms & Conditions shall prevail.
1.3. By placing an order with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Shipping policy.
2. Shipping Origin and Destinations
2.1. All physical orders are shipped from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
2.2. We currently ship to addresses within Canada and the United States.
2.3. We may, at our discretion, accommodate orders to other countries upon request. To inquire about international shipping availability, costs, and estimated delivery times, please contact us through the Contact page before placing an order.
3. Processing Time
3.1. Orders for in-stock items are typically processed and dispatched within three (3) to five (5) business days of order confirmation. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays observed in Ontario, Canada.
3.2. During periods of high demand, around major holidays, new releases, or for orders involving multiple items, processing may take longer. In such cases, we will notify you by email.
3.3. Orders are not processed or dispatched on weekends or statutory holidays.
3.4. Inventory availability is not guaranteed until an order has been processed and accepted for fulfillment. We reserve the right to cancel or limit quantities of any order at our discretion, in which case you will be notified by email and any payment received will be refunded for the affected items.
4. Backorders, Print-on-Demand, and Pre-Orders
4.1. Certain titles may be available only on a print-on-demand, backorder, or pre-order basis. These items are produced or sourced upon order through our affiliated print partners.
4.2. Backordered and print-on-demand items typically require a minimum of two (2) weeks from order confirmation to dispatch, including production and transit from the printing facility. Actual timelines may vary.
4.3. For items purchased as a pre-order, the estimated shipping window will be indicated on the product page at the time of purchase. Pre-order timelines are estimates and are subject to change based on production schedules.
4.4. If your order includes a mix of in-stock, backordered, or pre-order items, we reserve the right to hold the entire order until all items are available to ship together. If we elect to split the shipment at our discretion, no additional shipping fees will be charged to you. If you would prefer your in-stock items to be sent separately ahead of the remainder of your order, please contact us before placing your order to arrange a split shipment at additional cost.
5. Shipping Methods and Carriers
5.1. Orders are shipped via Canada Post by default, with tracked service where available.
5.2. Alternative carriers or expedited services may be arranged at the buyer’s request and expense. Please contact us before placing your order to confirm availability, cost, and estimated delivery time. Selection of an alternative carrier may extend the processing time.
5.3. Once an order is handed over to the carrier, delivery is subject to the carrier’s terms and conditions and to the provisions of Section 6 below.
5.4. We reserve the right to require signature confirmation upon delivery for high-value orders.
6. Transfer of Responsibility
6.1. Responsibility for shipments transfers to the buyer upon confirmed delivery to the shipping address provided at checkout, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.
6.2. Artaeria Editorial Ltd is not responsible for packages stolen, lost, or misplaced after the carrier’s tracking information confirms delivery to the address provided at checkout.
6.3. Where required by applicable consumer protection legislation, the provisions of this Section 6 shall be interpreted in a manner consistent with such legislation.
7. Address Accuracy and Undeliverable Shipments
7.1. Buyers are solely responsible for providing a complete, accurate, and valid shipping address at checkout, including any apartment, suite, or unit number and the correct postal or ZIP code.
7.2. Artaeria Editorial Ltd is not responsible for delays, losses, or additional shipping costs resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address information provided by the buyer.
7.3. If a shipment is returned to us by the carrier as “Undeliverable,” “Return to Sender,” due to an incorrect or incomplete address, failure to claim the package from a local postal outlet, or refusal of delivery, the buyer is responsible for the cost of re-shipment.
7.4. If the buyer requests cancellation after a shipment has been returned to us under the circumstances described in Section 7.3, any refund issued will exclude original shipping costs, return shipping costs, and any carrier fees incurred.
8. Local Delivery within Ontario
8.1. For buyers within Ontario, we may offer expedited or alternative delivery arrangements on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability and prior agreement.
8.2. To request expedited delivery within Ontario, please contact us through the Contact page before placing your order.
9. Shipping Costs and Packaging
9.1. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the destination, weight, and dimensions of the order.
9.2. We do not currently offer free shipping, except where expressly stated as part of a temporary promotion.
9.3. Shipping costs do not include customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges that may be imposed by the destination country.
9.4. All publications are packaged with protective materials appropriate for transit and handling.
10. Estimated Delivery Times
10.1. Estimated delivery times below apply once an order has been dispatched and are based on standard Canada Post service. Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
10.2. Estimated transit times after dispatch:
- Within Ontario: 1–3 business days
- Elsewhere in Canada: 3–7 business days
- United States: 5–12 business days
- Other destinations (where accommodated): 10–21 business days or longer, depending on destination and carrier
10.3. Actual delivery times may vary due to factors beyond our control, including carrier delays, customs processing, weather, statutory holidays, and other circumstances described in Section 15.
11. Customs, Duties, and Taxes
11.1. Orders shipped outside of Canada, including to the United States, may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, and other charges imposed by the destination country. These charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the product price or shipping cost.
11.2. Sales taxes imposed by state, provincial, or local authorities may, depending on the destination and applicable law, either be collected at checkout or become payable by the buyer upon receipt. Where Artaeria is required to collect such taxes, they will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
11.3. Artaeria Editorial Ltd is not responsible for transit delays caused by customs clearance procedures, border inspections, or actions of governmental authorities in the destination country.
11.4. We are unable to predict or calculate customs charges in advance. Please contact your local customs office for accurate information before placing an international order.
11.5. If a shipment is refused or abandoned due to the buyer’s unwillingness to pay customs charges or import taxes, any refund issued will exclude original shipping costs, return shipping costs, customs charges, and any carrier fees incurred.
12. Order Tracking and Delivery Disputes
12.1. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing a tracking number, where a tracked service has been used.
12.2. You may track your order at any time through the Track Your Order page on our website.
12.3. Packages Marked as Delivered. If the carrier’s tracking information indicates that your package has been delivered to the address provided at checkout but you have not received it, you must notify us through the Contact page within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date marked as delivered. Upon receipt of such notification within this period, we will assist you in opening an investigation with the carrier. Claims submitted after this fourteen (14) day window may be denied.
12.4. Non-Delivery. If a shipment has not been delivered within twenty (20) business days beyond the upper end of the estimated delivery window set out in Section 10.2, you may contact us through the Contact page to initiate a carrier investigation. Where the shipment is confirmed lost in transit, we will offer a replacement or refund as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
13. Damaged or Defective Shipments
13.1. Due to the nature of printed publications and limited edition works, minor variations between copies may occur.
13.2. If your order arrives with visible shipping damage, packaging damage, or a manufacturing defect, you must report it to us through the Contact page within seven (7) calendar days of delivery.
13.3. Reports must include clear photographs of the outer packaging, the shipping label, and the affected item or items. Claims submitted without this evidence or outside the seven (7) day window may not be eligible for replacement or refund.
13.4. Upon verification, remedies for damaged or defective shipments are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
13.5. Minor variations, slight corner wear, subtle surface marks, or other minor imperfections consistent with standard printing, binding, packaging, or shipping processes do not constitute damage or defect under this policy.
14. Digital Products
14.1. Digital products do not require physical shipping and are delivered electronically following payment confirmation.
14.2. Delivery of digital products may be fulfilled directly through our website or through a third-party platform, as indicated on the product page at the time of purchase.
14.3. Specific terms governing access, download limits, refunds, and use of digital products are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
15. Force Majeure
15.1. Artaeria Editorial Ltd is not liable for delays, failures of delivery, or other interruptions of service caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to postal disruptions or strikes, carrier service interruptions, customs delays, labour disputes, severe weather, natural disasters, governmental actions, public health emergencies, or other force majeure events.
15.2. Where a force majeure event materially affects our ability to fulfill an order, we will notify affected customers and resume normal operations as soon as practicable.
